That full moon over the Golden Gate Bridge
While the photograph can’t do it justice
The memory won’t be taken away
I recall the same gasp on that Saturday morning 20 years ago

I’ve lived with the same woman for that many years
Slept by her side
Held her hand as our babies were born
And watch them grow together

In the little house on 53rd
The only home our children know
There are many stories
If only the layers of paint could talk

We’ve walked through darkness and misunderstanding
Suffered through uncertainty
And still hold to what is true
Even if the grasp feels sometimes weak

The Dream of Creating
Committed everything to a restaurant
Has become more than the mind even knew
I am grateful for her willingness to step out on the water

I’ve been married this many years
And with no guarantees of more
We have 20 in our hands
And stay content with such

I stumbled across your site a few weeks ago, and I was immediately hooked. Reading your stories has been like reading a good book. I save a few entries to read every day so I can make it last a bit longer. I want to say thanks for writing such a beautifully descriptive and honest portrayal of the restaurant business. I love your positive attitude that has been a common thread from day 1. I have never been to Nebraska, but your stories make me want to visit.
