Congratulations! Unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to get down that way until at least next week. In the mean time, I’ll make sure a few thousand eyes read about Bread & Cup’s opening via Lincolnite.

I’m in town for the Nevada and USC games in the next month, will definitely stop by! Very excited!

very excited to try out your place. in looking over the menu, however, i noticed something that stood out to a spelling geek like me. i think you’re meaning to use “complement” rather than “compliment.” i normally wouldn’t say anything, but since this will be on info that you present to the general public, i thought you might like to know. can’t wait to eat there!

OMG!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so proud of you all and can’t wait to get to Lincoln to eat and drink with you all. Your website brought tears to my eyes…I know you all have labored, dreamed, despaired and hoped for this day. I am inspired! Take care and good luck in your next few weeks/months of openness.

I noticed compliments/complements, too, and I was about to mention it. Then I took a look at the other headings on the menu. Notice a theme?

  10. Watchman says:

Our use of the word compliment vs complement is part of our theme of conversation. We hope our pesto, olive tapenade, etc, “speaks well” of our breads.

One thing we are finding about our menu is what people think of as a “side” item. Our compliments are not small portions, but intended to be paired with a loaf of bread. Its our version of “chips and salsa,” if you will. Now you have an alternative to bar food.

Our wine arrived last night, and our beer and ale are showing up today.
